Chagas disease is a chronic disease caused by infection with the protozoan T. cruzi. The parasite is transmitted to humans by a group of insects Roduvidae family, with the kissing bug (Triatoma infestans), the main vector. The infection can also be transmitted congenitally, through blood transfusions or organ transplants, and in varying degrees affects various organs and systems, especially the heart and gastrointestinal tract. The disease is endemic from southern USA to central Chile and southern Argentina.

The humoral immune response to infection can be detected quickly by CELQUEST Chagas ELISA. The test is performed in microplates sensitized with a recombinant fusion antigen, the result of a careful selection of highly immunogenic epitopes. Thus CelQuest Chagas reaches the highest standards of sensitivity and specificity, with the reagent of choice for screening for antibodies against T. cruzi in blood banks and clinical laboratories.

 CelQuest Hidatidosis ELISA  Human hydatidosis is a parasitic zoonosis caused by larval stage of cestode E. granulosus (family Taeniidae). It is a parasitic disease which man is the intermediate host, the parasite as it develops cystic forms. This condition has a worldwide distribution, with a high prevalence in Mediterranean countries, north and east Africa, China, South America and Australia. CelQuest Echinococcosis is a solid phase immunosorbent assay or ELISA for the qualitative detection of antibodies (IgG) against E. granulosus.

 The test is performed in microplates whose wells have been sensitized with a purified antigen from hydatid fluid. The great performace of isolation and purification of the antigen allows Hydatidosis CelQuest reach higher levels of sensitivity and specificity for serodiagnosis of human hydatidosis.
