PPAR
The PPARs are nuclear hormone receptors with role in the differentiation and function of adipocytes. The variant at codon 12 (Pro12Ala) is a common polymorphism in the PPARg-2 gene and is frequently associated with an increased susceptibility to obesity. It is one of the best genetic predictors of weight gain and is associated with high body mass index and the development of Type II Diabetes.
Our kit can detect the presence or absence of this mutation in clinical samples.
PROTEIN G
Protein G belongs to a group of cell receptors targeted by a variety of drugs, thus having a role in its pharmacological action. The GNB3 gene encoding the small subunit of the G protein Gb3 is located on chromosome 12. The C825T polymorphism located in exon 10 of this gene is associated with predisposition to obesity, weight gain during pregnancy and hypertension.
Our kit can detect the presence or absence of this polymorphism.
