Inflamatory Disease
NOD2
The NOD2/CARD15 gene located on chromosome 16 has been established as a susceptibility gene for Crohn's disease (CD). This region is related to the recognition of bacterial products and the activation of nuclear transcription factor NF kappa 8 and the subsequent activation of genes encoding qeu anti-and pro-inflammatory cytokines.
The service can detect three mutations associated near the forest as the EC (and not the chronic ulcerative colitis): R702W, G908R and Leu1007fsinsC. The relative risk of developing the disease is 2-3 times higher in patients carrying a mutation and 20-40 times higher in homozygous or carry two different mutations.
